Ok, let's see... I hate to say I told you so, but podcasts have run rampant. C'mon, you know it's mainstream when iTunes has implemented it... Wait, who told you about podcasts?

There's a new podcast from Kevin Rose, Alex Albrecht . It's a weekly podcast covering digg.com and the most popular links of the week. Today they released the video version on their new site Diggnation. Wait, how did you guys hear about digg?

I guess I can release another gem that I found. From the Shadows is a great site/vidcast that I've been following since the beginning. If you like 'the broken' and Yoshi, you'll like FTS. Also, if you've heard anything about hacking traffic lights/crosswalk signals you might want to tune into the next episode of FTS.

Alright, since I got the tech stuff out of the way, I'll post again soon about some more stuff ("About Foltsie").

Holy crap! I think someone must've read my blog last week when I complained about my weekly podcasts! Those fuggers decided to overload me! Ok, Mondays is back, phew. TWiT decides to make up for last week and drop TWO episodes in friggin 24 hours! Damn Leo, get some sleep! So that's over three hours of podcasts that I'm in for. To top it off, my ultra-fav website ZUG decides to plop onto the podcasting scene! Man, I need some coffee!

Yes it is Friday. I am happy.

Although happy, I am slightly annoyed at the same time. A ticket just arrived in the ATG queue. Now anyone who has worked for customer service/help desk can feel me on this one.

Problem Description: User cannot access a link.

Ok, can you get any more vague than that?! It's actually refreshing seeing these types of tickets being in the position that I'm in. Simple solution is... the 'Assign To:' button. This ticket is on its way down the ladder. Low level support will have to deal with this one. Yes, this college graduate is actually in higher level support.

I remember the days of low level support. From my 'internship' here at Stanley last summer, to ITS. Trying to help the most computer illiterate, incompetent losers on the planet really got to me. So I never showed up to work...

Wow, while typing this, another great ticket came into my queue:

Problem Description: User cannot connect to network. Helpdesk unable to grant access.

Ok, my job is to support the web applications that we develop. If a user can't connect to the network, THEY CAN'T USE OUR WEB APPS!!! Down the ladder...

Ok, I'm done talkin about work. I finally got around to watching this past Sunday's Family Guy. I laughed my ass off. The few episodes prior to this one were a little sub-par in my book, but this one had me crying. Speaking of TV, HBO cancelled Carnivale?! I didn't even get through the first season.

Where the hell are my weekly podcasts?! Mondays decided to take a week off... No sign of TWiT, apparently their FTP server died so the twits can't send their audio to the Master Chief Twit to edit. C'mon guys, ever hear of Drop Load or YouSendIt?! Or even GMail!

ok, there has been a change in the foltsie blog... you may have noticed that i all of a sudden don't use CAPS! in the casual environment such as this blog, i feel that the capitalization of letters/words should be ignored. this lowercase format is really relaxing and laid back. i know rogan knocks it but i like it...

i recently stumbled upon joe rogan's website. i love fear factor and i've been a rogan fan ever since newsradio. 'god damn'. "joe show" is awesome. everyone thinks of rogan as the dumbass host of fear factor but he really is a man's man. i love how he talks with drunk people and makes them realize that they shouldn't argue when they've been drinking. joe knows his shit.

podcasts and vidcasts are raiding the 'net. i love it, i don't have to pay for cable anymore. comcast blows. fuck paying for hbo, just download it in hd.

Artie's dvd is amazing. If you've ever listened to the Stern show and enjoyed anything that Artie has ever added to the show, you should buy this dvd. Either that or ask me to copy it for you. The 'special features' alone is worth the twenty bucks. Of course he gets wasted.. on Jack.. so of course.. I loved it.

Not to be all sappy but I wish I was all into the blogging phase when I was a freshman at good ol' ECSU. Every night I'd have so much to say, cause we'd all be drunk. I wish I could read the blog from the night that the infamous B U R N A P... was spelled out in Bud Light cans in the first floor burnap lounge... thanks Charlie!

My spankin new Artie Lange dvd just arrived today! I have a natural connection to him as his dvd is called " It's the whiskey talkin' "... I might watch it tonight and blog about it tomorrow, but prolly not.

I'm thinking about signing up for a monthly music service but I can't seem to find the right one. These cheap ones like Napster and Yahoo only let you "borrow" the music only while you're paying the monthly fee. I know there's a plugin for Winamp that rips the DRM from the songs in the Napster service, but I'm not sure what format it saves the files as. Of course iPod owners have gotten shafted so far by these 'pay to play' services. I have a feeling Apple will be starting their own service through iTunes, maybe with video too! Oh well, I need some feedback from a fellow iPodder on this..

Wow, if this happens, I will forever be a slave to Apple.

Lost in Excitement

I am genuinely excited about tonight's finale. I know I will be a little upset when the show ends with tons of unanswered questions, but I guess that's what makes it a good show. I've really been trying to avoid all of the "inside info" and "teaser" articles. I like to be surprised.

Systm was cool as hell if any of you missed it. Not an amazingly exciting first episode, but I thought it was pretty neat. Now, since Kevin is focusing his full attention on his vidcasts he should be bangin out episodes left and right! Can't wait..

Holy shit!!! There's a "The Chronicles of Narnia" movie coming out!? "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" is a great book!

You Don't Need a Blog

Go read this. So funny and so true... I won't listen though, I'll keep the stuff coming. As long as I amuse one person every day, I did my job and the Foltsie blog serves its purpose.

Today has been an especially shitty day. I left my apartment on time today, so my day actually started on the up side. Driving to work, I'm a multi-tasker. I eat my strawberry eggos, drink my coffee and listen to Stern all while trying to keep my beast on the road. This morning, as I was taking my last bite of eggo, I noticed a loud thumping sound coming from the rear passenger side wheel well. Keep in mind I'm traveling at about 80mph. I then proceeded to shit my pants. I looked in my rear-view mirror to see what the hell was going on only to this huge plume of smoke trailing my car. My underwear was ruined at this point. Thank gosh there was an exit coming up, so I pulled over to the slow lane and got on the off ramp. There was a pretty big shoulder on the right hand side, so I pulled over into the gravel. After cleaning myself up a little I got out of the car and kissed the ground. I walked over to the tire in question meanwhile spitting out the dirt that I just licked up. Yeah, the fucker was absolutely destroyed. I got back in my car and just sat in shock for a little bit and thought "This is for all the times I've been late to work..." on the one day this week I was on time. I popped the trunk and got out to grab the smallest jack I have ever seen in my life. I searched my trunk for the key for my locking lug nuts for about ten minutes, all the while showing my ass to all the cars driving by. It was a great self-shaming, I was waiting for someone to pull over, whip out a Sharpie and draw a dick on my forehead. Finally finding the key, I grabbed the huge tire iron and mini jack and threw them in the gravel. I put the jack under the car and I swear I must've cranked that fucker about twenty-five thousand times. I finally got it high enough off the ground to where I could remove the hunk of rubber that used to be a tire and chucked it aside. Of course, the spare that I have is a 17" rim that should've been on the car in the first place. Because I was replacing a 15 incher with a 17 incher, I had to slave away cranking the jack some more. At this point, the jack was at a frighteningly dangerous angle and I was hoping that the gravel would give way a little more so the car could slam down and critically injure me so I wouldn't have to deal with this shit. It didn't fall. Another 20 minutes passed and I finally got the new shoe on, cleaned up and drove away. And once again, I walked into work late as usual.

Lunch time rolls around and I'm absolutely starving. The adrenaline shot this morning must've burned off my eggos. I walk downstairs looking into an empty wallet. I thought, "That's fine, I'll just hit up the ATM in the building!" That's right, you guessed it, OUT OF ORDER! "Eh, oh well, I'll just go out to lunch." I walk out to my car laughing my ass off at the site of three stock wheels and the lone aftermarket rim propping the right rear of my car up higher than the rest. Unlocking my car, I got this weird feeling... I ignored it and hopped in, put my key in the ignition and went through my daily ritual of praying to the Acura gods, asking them to please allow my car to start. I turned the key... and nothing. I left my fucking lights on!

I'm hoping my day goes better than it had this morning. John Hargrave succeeded once again to cheer me up with his colorful depiction of true stories, go check him out. I laughed so hard at this one, I actually cried.

People are idiots. If you still get an AIM virus after using instant messaging for 5+ years, give it up. Leave it to the 1337 im'ers.

The best part of this virus is that you find out whose buddy list you're on. You also find out they're not very smart... Ok, I admit, I've been a dumbass in the past by clicking on these extremely tempting links, but c'mon... Even if you do mistakenly click the link, spend 10 minutes and Google a fucking removal tool. Please, don't click links from your "buddies" on AIM unless you know what you're clicking. You're just causing more problems that I eventually will have to fix.

Writers Block

Maybe this blog wasn't such a good idea. I can't think of anything to write about... I think I need to implement a more structured system. I was thinking of writing about certain topics on specific days (i.e. Podcast Mondays, Geek Joke Tuesdays, 'The Week as Foltsie' Fridays, etc.). This would make it easier for me provide some sort of entertainment and a reason to actually come to this damn blog. Can anyone see the friggin comment button below the posts? Use it and give me some ideas! Once I get writing, it usually flows but I just need a kick in the ass... or maybe just a topic.

Anyway, enough whining. I was thinking of getting some fireworks from Phantom. This guy I work with is going to NH in a few weeks and he asked if I wanted any. I think most of the stuff is buy one get one free so if anyone wants to in on a big bundle, let me know. Since some of you liked the last joke I posted, here's a similar one:

4. You could only have one person in the car at a time, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT". But, then you would have to buy more seats.
5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast, twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five percent of the roads.
6. The Macintosh car owners would get expensive Microsoft upgrades to their cars, which would make their cars run much slower.

There are three engineers in a car; an electrical engineer, a chemical engineer and a software engineer employed by Microsoft. Suddenly the car just stops by the side of the road, and the three engineers look at each other wondering what could be wrong.

The electrical engineer suggests stripping down the electronics of the car and trying to trace where a fault might have occurred.

The chemical engineeer, not knowing much about cars, suggests that maybe the fuel is becoming emulsified and getting blocked somewhere.

Then, the software engineer, not knowing much about anything, comes up with a suggestion, "Why don't we close all the windows, get out, get back in, open the windows again, and maybe it'll work."

As you know, I ordered a QGrill last week. Well, whenever I order something online, I go 'Tracking Number Crazy' so, the second my trusty Gmail Notifier screams at me to check my mail, I jump all over it. I was pumped to see that they included a tracking number in the email. Of course I had to dump it into Google to see where my sexy grill was at that exact moment in time. Copy. Paste. 'Google Search'...

Went to the eye doctor today. It turns out that he's pretty geeky himself; we sat around for 45 minutes talking about computers. He then handed me my glasses. You can laugh, but please note that I decided against adding the optional geek package which included a roll of white tape and a shiny new pocket protector... my insurance didn't cover it.

Oh yeah, I ordered my new Sanyo RL-7300 today courtesy of Stanley. Yeah I know, it's kind of a crappy phone, but it's the best one that they offer to employees. Now it's time for the big switch to Sprint and a new cell phone number, along with the hassle of populating my phone book with names of people that I will never call, and never call me. What do I care? I'm not paying for the phone or the monthly charge.

Most people hate Mondays. I, on the other hand, actually love them. I look forward to waking up to Howard and rushing off to work to download the latest podcasts. Howard was good as always, but I always arrive at work at the best part. This week's 'Mondays' kinda sucked... To top it off, I can't even download the new TWiT cause the network admins decide to block port 6881! Oh well, I'll have to get it at home and throw it on my ipod for tomorrow.

Another thing I love is our ATG weekly meetings. I get to sit there and listen to how everyone's weekend was. It's almost like being there. (Although, sometimes I'm glad I wasn't really there. Damn Indians talking about how the went to "temple" as the smell of curry wafts through my brain.) When it was my turn, I went through my normal weekend routine:

Friday: Do nothing. Watch a movie. Go to bed.
Saturday: Clean like fucking crazy until our guests show up for jello shots and mexican dip. Pass the fugg out on the couch.
Sunday: Sleep all day. Wake up to eat. Take a nap. Do nothing. Go to bed.

(Note: This week was a little different as I added my two plumbing mishaps. Both of which everyone loved.)

Now I'm just sitting around watching the clock till 5 rolls around. To end this sucky post, I'll include some words of wisdom from brother Jesse:

Well I figure I better post something today since I just created this damn thing. Nothing really new today, typical lazy Friday afternoon.

In case you didn't know already, there's a Woot-off today! I didn't buy anything but I would've bought the FX5600 for $50... but of course I had to leave my desk for all of five minutes only to return to a nice red "Sold Out!" sign in my face. Oh well, Ellen will have to keep playing Counter-Strike on my computer for now.

Well, that's all I'll put for now. I'm gonna try and update this thing daily so stay tuned you twits! I'm off, I actually have some work to do! just kidding i don't do work
